Learn Why Windows Is Not To Blame

For Many of YOUR Computer Problems
Plus… Why YOU Should Avoid Those Retail Chains

If you’ve watched TV lately, you probably have seen the MAC commercials. You know the ones, the MAC guy poking fun at Microsoft Windows working to convince people that MAC’s are better. I love those commercials, I find them so hilarious. But I gotta’ be honest here, Windows is not always to blame for the problems they’ve had.

Sure, I’ll agree, Microsoft hasn’t always come out with the best versions of Windows in the past, but what you don’t know might surprise you.

Can I take a moment to ask you to be totally honest with yourself for a minute? I want to ask you a question: When you’re shopping for a new Laptop or Desktop Computer, What’s the number one consideration you have? I know it’s not a hard question, but I think I already know the answer: How Much Is This Computer Going To Cost Me?

That is a very valid question. Let’s face it, the economy hasn’t been doing so well lately, but we still want and need our precious computers, Right? Of course, so if you can save some money why shouldn’t you?

When it comes to shopping for a computer, there’s so many different options of configurations. There’s the Motherboard, the RAM, the Hard Drive, the Processor and, and, and… And believe it or not, the combination of those things will have a large impact on how efficient your computer operates. But hey, who has time to figure out and learn all these things… and let’s be honest, who WANTS to? I’m sure you’ve got better things to do with your time than spend hours on the internet trying to figure out what the best motherboard and all the other things are and then try and balance them into how much you want to spend. It’s Totally Ludicrous!

Here’s the Real Truth About Computers

As you are focused on price, so are the independent computer stores who sell them. When you walk in to “Joe’s Computer Place” and tell them what you’re looking for, and they tell you it’s going to cost you $739 just for the tower. Your typical response is… “Wow, can you do something better?” I mean, after all, you’re not dumb, you’ve seen the ads on other sites or even on “Joes” website offering a system for under $400. It seems like he’s just trying to take advantage of you and sell you something you don’t need.

Wait for it Now… here’s the real truth, Not All Computers Are Created Equal! When you ask him what he can do to give you a lower price, he may switch out the Motherboard, or switch the Intel processor with an AMD processor etc. I mean really, who cares if it’s a Gigabyte Motherboard instead of an Asus Motherboard? As long as I can save some money.

The Hardware Is the Real Culprit!

What do you mean, ‘The Hardware Is The Culprit”? You see, it’s like this. With such a large open market in the PC industry that’s developed over the years, more and more companies have gotten on board to develop their contributions to the computer industry, and working on providing a larger and larger selection of products. So much so, that’s it’s gotten nearly impossible to keep track. There needs to be a marriage between Hardware and Software, and to be perfectly direct, some of them should really just get a divorce right now! Don’t you agree? Aren’t you ready to just Throw your computer straight out the window sometimes?

There’s a Motherboard that we had brought in not long ago, and once the computer was all put together we installed Windows XP. Well, we found that after some testing, Windows seemed to have a bunch of problems. Now isn’t it a problem with Windows? Actually, NO! We discovered that the real problem was the Motherboard, it didn’t play well with Windows XP. But when we installed Windows Vista instead, we did some more testing and found that it worked fine.

Yes, there are ways of buying a computer dirt cheap, but is it like asking to people who hate each other to live together? At RockPC.com we’ve worked closely with our suppliers, and have done extensive testing to ensure our systems are compatible with the latest Operating Systems. The computer industry is a very competitive market. That’s no secret. So if were to try and sell you something, just anything to save you a buck or two, well… we’re just slitting our own throats now, aren’t we?

Here’s What Those Big Retail Chains AREN’T Telling You!

But wait a second here, Don’t HP and other brands test
their systems? Yes, I’m sure they do, but here’s a few things I’ve learned.
  • What can the sales people tell you?
If you’ve ever walked into your local ‘sell everything’ electronics store, (I don’t want to mention names here) and ask them about different computers, you’ll notice that they can’t say much besides what the label tells says. They’ll tell you which one is faster, or has more RAM, but hey, the reason they’re there is to SELL. That’s their number one objective. Even if they’re not on commission, They still have a job to do. “Team, we gotta’ get these Laptop’s moving today, we haven’t sold enough”

  • If you have a problem with your computer, How long is it going to take to get it back?
When you bring your computer into some to the larger computer stores, they typically send it to a distribution centre to be repaired. If they need to replace some parts, it could take weeks, as they have to wait for it to be shipped from the manufacturer such as HP, or wherever it comes from, maybe they have to ship it somewhere in the states or back east to be covered under
manufacturer warranty. Meanwhile, you’re sitting there staring at the wall, wishing you could check your email.

From talking to our suppliers, and our experiences, there are certain manufacturers that do take weeks to turn around a defective piece of hardware. That’s unavoidable, and unfortunately, you’re the one paying the price. But… there are others that we work with that have a 24 hour turnaround time. This means that if there’s something that if a part needs to be replaced, we can get your prized PC back to you in no time.

Who Do You Really Want To Buy From?

So maybe the guy next door can save you a couple of bucks on your next system purchase, but does he care more about making the sale just so you’re happy you got a cheap computer? Or does he care more about providing a quality system and better service that’ll give you a lot less trouble in the long run?

No, Not all computers are created equal, and Windows has certainly stepped up their game with Windows 7. (I’m a current user) By choosing the combination of the right hardware that’s been proven to work with your software, you won’t go wrong.

Our Mission is to provide You our customer with the BEST quality, fully tested Systems while providing unparalleled one on one customer service that won’t break your budget.
